A retail routing guide tells suppliers how cartons should be labeled, packed, booked and delivered to a retailer or distributor warehouse. For custom toy orders, routing details should be shared before final packing.
Retail routing guide checklist
| Requirement | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| PO and SKU labels | PO number, SKU, item name and carton sequence are visible. |
| Carton format | Loose cartons, master cartons, inner packs or pallets are accepted. |
| Barcode rules | UPC, EAN, warehouse barcode or routing label is required. |
| Appointment process | Carrier booking, delivery window and dock instructions are clear. |
| Documents | Packing list, delivery note, invoice copy or ASN information is ready. |
When to share the routing guide
Share routing instructions before carton marks and labels are finalized. If the guide arrives after packing, labels may need to be reprinted and cartons may need to be reopened.
